Mathematical modeling is an important tool for applying mathematical knowledge and methods to solve real-world problems. This course introduces the general principles and commonly used methods of mathematical modeling through specific case studies, while strengthening foundational knowledge in applied mathematics, including differential equations, probability and statistics, and operations research and optimization.
The course aims to cultivate students’ scientific literacy and scientific spirit, enhance their abilities in literature review, computer applications, and academic writing, and foster comprehensive competencies. It also guides and encourages students to engage in scientific research and apply mathematical methods to address practical problems.
